How to Apply for a Suncoast Scholarship to the OA World Service Convention in 2025:

If you would like to attend the 2025 OA World Service Convention in Orlando August 21, 22, and 23, and need financial assistance, we have good news! The Suncoast Intergroup Board has approved three (3) scholarships of up to $159 in registration cost, each based on need. This will cover the July 2, 2025, early registration discount offered by OA World Services. The scholarships are available on an as needed basis. Since the deadline is July 2, please complete the scholarship application as soon as possible. The scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. There is no abstinence requirement. More information on the convention is available at https://oa.org/world-service-convention.

Requirements for each applicant:

1. Applicant must have at least three (3) months of active/continuous group attendance. (Abstinence is not a requirement to apply).
2. Applicant must physically reside in Hillsborough/East Pasco County areas.
3. Applicant must commit to attend (1) Intergroup meeting before July 2, 2025, and one after the convention.
4. Please consider doing service at the event or at the Intergroup level or at the group level.
5. Applicant must submit a written summary of his/her convention experience (no more than two or three paragraphs) and present it at the Suncoast Intergroup meeting following the convention.
6. Submit the completed application online from our website.
7. Upon approval, the applicant will be reimbursed by presenting a receipt to the Suncoast Treasurer after the event.
